Player discussions checked Aug 18, 2026. Reports can change with new builds.
The official page lists full controller support. Players currently report that the Android build has no touch controls, so plan to use a compatible controller rather than touch-only play.
PLAYER REPORTSOPEN DISCUSSIONThe creator lists Steam Deck support, but players currently report mixed results with the included launch scripts. Some community members use the Windows build through Proton Experimental as a workaround; that is community advice, not an official fix.
PLAYER REPORTSOPEN DISCUSSIONPlayers repeatedly request optional double-tap dash and report controller-mapping differences on some setups. Do not assume double-tap dash or every shoulder-button mapping is available for your device.
PLAYER REPORTSOPEN DISCUSSIONCurrent player feedback includes reports of sluggish wall-jump response, stutter, lost inputs, and isolated stage or boss soft-locks. These are community reports, not a developer-confirmed issue list; check the official page for the newest build and release notes.

Mega Man X Regenesis is a free fan-made action platformer set after a bad end:
Sigma has won, X has fallen, and Dr. Cain sends X into Project Regenesis for one
more chance to change the result. It plays in the familiar X-series rhythm—dash,
jump, wall-climb, charge shots, and pick-your-stage boss fights—but tells its
own story rather than remaking an existing game.
There are eight new Maverick bosses, new Special Weapons, Armor Upgrades,
collectibles, secrets, achievements, SNES-style pixel art, and more than 25
original music tracks. The first completion is not the whole game. Players are
already reporting that heart tanks, armor parts, and Sub Tanks can be easy to
miss, so revisiting stages is part of the fun rather than a sign that you played
wrong.
Use a controller if you can. Spend a few minutes in the intro getting used to
dash timing, wall movement, and weapon switching before judging a difficult
room. If you know the original Mega Man X games, expect a similar foundation,
not identical inputs or button mapping. Try boss stages in the order that looks
fun, take note of blocked routes, and return when you have a new weapon or
upgrade. Community players have found that most bosses can be learned with the
basic buster; Special Weapons are worth testing, but they are not a substitute
for reading an arena and learning its attack rhythm.
Choose Windows, macOS, Linux, or Android in the Downloads section above. Android
players should plan on a compatible controller: current reports say there are
no touch controls. Steam Deck support is listed by the creator, but early player
reports describe trouble with the included launch scripts. Some people have used
the Windows build through Proton Experimental; treat that as a community
workaround, not a promised fix.
The early response is positive about the music, art, and exploration. Reports
also mention occasional stutter, lost inputs, slow-feeling wall jumps, and a few
possible soft-locks. These are player reports, not a confirmed issue list. If
something goes wrong, note your platform, package version, controller, stage,
and the steps that caused it before looking for a workaround or reporting it.
